All Ireland Science Media Centre
The All Ireland SMC is an independent press office working to increase the breadth, depth, and quality of science reporting across the island of Ireland. It was established in 2024 as a one-year pilot run by the UK SMC after a consultation process highlighted a need for stronger coverage of science. Following the success of the pilot, it has operated as an independent SMC since August 2025, providing ongoing support for evidence-based reporting, based in Dublin at Airfield Estate, a registered charity and research institute. The All Ireland SMC operates under a multi-funder model to support editorial independence, seeking donations from a wide variety of organisations with an interest in the accurate reporting of science and engineering in the media.
