Science Media Center Korea
The Science Media Center Korea (SMCK) was established in 2025 as a non-profit organisation to act as a communication bridge between the scientific community and the media. SMCK believes that society can develop in a more rational way when evidence-based information on science and technology issues is quickly delivered to the public. SMCK’s top priority is to provide expert opinions on important scientific issues to the media. Another key task is to connect media outlets with appropriate scientists they are seeking. SMCK seeks to realise the achievements that global Science Media Centres have accomplished in Korea.
Incubated by the Korea Foundation for Science and Creativity (KOSAC), Korea’s agency for promoting scientific culture, SMCK is working to strengthen its independence by recruiting funders. SMCK is located in Seoul, the capital of Korea.
